An unknown party was checked (unk transport) for a fall on the ice.
A 4th alarm was called to this. The last alarm was for tankers only. The water source on Intervale never gave water, due to a combination of frozen pumps, and equipment failures. The other source at the golf course was running well.
A Gold Star employee was handling a gasoline tank and vapors got to a propane heater, possibly mounted up on the ceiling. The employee tried to throw the tank out the door, but decided the ball of flame was too much. Burned the workshop and part of the warehouse. The Boys made a good stop and saved some fairly new equipment.
DES and HAZMAT was called for pesticides in the warehouse because the Merrimack river is just across the road. Is that why it could be seen it from Concord and beyond?
Temps were in the teens and it was moderately windy.
It took me 20 minutes to get there, so no real fire pics, some personnel and apparatus shots were ok. Eng VanDyke operated 52K3 and FF/EMT Bilodeau rode while they trucked water. A.C. Pistey was there assisting the upper echelon.
If you would like a picture for other than personal or fire department reasons, just ask. |
